When a man wants to marry the love of his life, it's tradition to ask her father if he approves first. This is especially true if the woman and her father are very close.
Lieutenant Trent A. Kirk, a brave firefighter in Memphis, TN, lost his life in the line of duty in 2003. His daughter, Charity, had always been very close to him, and looked up to him as the hero he was, and still is.
So when her boyfriend, Corporal Matthew Auriel, decided to propose to Charity, he wanted to figure out a way to involve Lt. Kirk. He knew that it would mean the world to her, but since he couldn't ask permission directly, he had to get creative.
When Charity made a trip to the Fire Museum thinking that she was just taking her nephew on a little trip, she got a huge surprise. When she arrived at the memorial wall of fallen firefighters, she saw her boyfriend walking up to her, flowers in hand and in full uniform. They meet right in front of her dad's name on the wall… and when he gets down on one knee? She can't believe that it's all happening, and her father is there with her in this very special moment.
