Singer Chris Medina had everything going for him in 2009. The soulful crooner was about to embark on an adventure as a favorite on American Idol and he was preparing to marry his high school sweetheart, Juliana. Unfortunately, fate had other plans and the wedding plans came to a screeching halt.
Juliana was involved in a tragic car accident two months short of the couple's winter wedding date. She survived, but suffered permanent brain damage. The Idol hopeful was devastated, but instead of dropping his dream, he pushed even harder, at her request. Five years later, Medina's devotion to Juliana is stronger than ever before.
In this heart-rendering video, Medina performs the song he wrote for Juliana, "What Are Words". In it he describes his eternal devotion to Juliana and touches on how important promises, commitment and keeping your word are in a relationship. It's a real tearjerker, so break out your hanky, but it's also incredibly beautiful.
