Every day, fathers make sacrifices to provide for their families. Some serve in the military, others deliver packages, and some construct the offices that other men will work in.
No matter what the job, a good father does what he can to make sure mouths are fed and backs are clothed.
But for some dads, working hard means grueling hours and long distance traveling, and therefore, missed memories.
That's why one little girl, Stephanie, came up with an incredible way to reach out to her hard-working dad, no matter the distance.
Now, what started as just one little message has broken world records and taken the internet by storm. And though it might not have changed his long work hours, Stephanie's dad is now very aware of just how much his daughter loves him.

Stephanie's dad is an astronaut with the Expedition 42 crew, meaning that he's aboard the International Space Station for months at a time.

Though she's very accustomed to her dad's long periods of absence, Stephanie still misses him greatly.

So Stephanie decided she wanted to send a message to her free-floating father — but delivering this message would be no small feat.

With the help of designers, directors, coordinators, and producers, Stephanie's plan was set in motion.

Crews from Korea, Europe, and the United States came together for one reason: to create a message large enough to be seen from space.

The scribes of this letter? Eleven cars fitted with special tires, driven by talented stuntmen.

The location chosen was Delamar Dry Lake, NV, a lakebed with all the right conditions for the message.

With the help of advanced GPS technologies, the cars traced out Stephanie's simple but heartwarming message.

The end result measured 1.6 times larger than New York City's Central Park.

Nothing of this scale had ever been achieved before. The crew's hard work had paid off.

Clear as bell, miles above Earth, Stephanie's message could be seen.

It was so clear, Stephanie's father was able to photograph the message. It was a thrilling moment.

The project now holds the title of “largest tire track image” in the Guinness Book of World Records. But no award could compare to the stunning final product. Be sure to watch the video below to get the full effect.
