Michael Jackson Blew The Crowd Away With ‘Billie Jean’ At His 30th Anniversary Special

In 2001, Michael Jackson took the stage by storm at Madison Square Garden.

After decades in the business, the talented late artist hosted a concert that would be televised. It was the Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Special. The tickets sold out in hours and the most expensive tickets were $10,000, but they included dinner with Michael himself!

Sadly, Michael Jackson has been gone for seven years now, but his legacy lives on in performances like this. The anniversary special brought forward a side of the entertainer that drove his fans wild. They loved him!

The special, which was filmed between two concerts, had many other famous guest performers, like Whitney Houston, Usher, and all of Michael Jackson's siblings. What I would give up to have been able to attend that concert!

While these other guests were a hit with the crowd, everyone was waiting for Michael to perform. Over the course of his career, he has so many hit songs, it is hard to choose your favorite. But "Billie Jean" is one of my top three, and when he began singing this hit, I could relate to the crowd's excitement.

Ever the entertainer, Michael starts out the song slowly, marching onto the stage with a briefcase. One by one, he reveals iconic pieces of clothing he has worn over his career: his jacket, a hat, and one white glove. The crowd loses their minds watching him perform! You can see their reactions in the video below.

If you enjoyed this, then you will love the video of Michael Jackson singing "The Way You Make Me Feel" with Britney Spears at his 30th anniversary special.

Don't forget to SHARE this performance with all of your friends and family that miss Michael Jackson!
