It was an otherwise typical day at school for South Carolina elementary students Christy Risher, 8, and her younger sister, Kaylee, 6. They were attending a Christmas assembly when Santa arrived to greet the students. As Santa approached them, he suddenly pulled down his beard.
The man in the costume? It was their father, Capt. Josh Risher, who returned home from a one-year deployment in South Korea, where he is a human resource officer in the Army. He decided to give his girls a surprise visit at school.
The girls' jaws drop when they see him and they do a double take before realizing that it's their dad standing in front of them. Once it registers, they jump up and yell, "Daddy!" They all hug, as the teachers in the background can be seen crying.
From the girls' reactions, his homecoming surprise was worth it! Seeing the look at these girls faces, just the utter look of shock and disbelief, is great!
