For many, being in the military means being away from home for long periods of time. If one is a parent, it also means being away from one's children for too long. Joi Washington, who is with the U.S. Air Force, knows this pain all too well, as her job takes her away from her three young daughters, Journee, Justyce, and Jazmyn.
Most recently, she was stationed in Afghanistan, where she has spent the last year away from them.
But she just returned to Panama City Beach, Florida, to give them the surprise of a lifetime! As they are all students, surprising them in school, in the middle of the day, couldn't be more perfect.
First, the mom showed up at her two youngest daughters' elementary school at lunch time. She stood on stage, behind a curtain. When it was pulled back, the two girls saw the uniform but didn't immediately recognize her face. When they finally did, they didn't hesitate to jump into her arms.
Then, the mom traveled to her eldest daughter's school to surprise her there too.
These are certainly moments the mom and her daughters will never forget! The four plan to spend the time they have together on spa and shopping trips.
