We've all seen the heartbreaking image of a dog or cat, or other small pet, tossed aside by cruel owners who left them to fend for themselves.
The cutie below is a bit more unusual, though still unfortunate, example of animal abandonment. The adorable young goat, who her rescuers named Millie, was found curled up inside a box on the side of the road all by herself, only a large white teddy bear there to keep her company. According to the folks who took her in at Puget Sound Goat Rescue, she could not have been more than 2 days old when she was subjected to such a harsh lack of compassion from whoever her former owners were.
Thankfully, Millie did not have to spend much time alone before help arrived. The family who discovered her did their best to care for her with goats milk bottles, but knew she would be better off in a facility like the goat rescue.
The rescuers decided on the name Millie based on its meaning of bravery, strength, and determination being a "perfect for this precious little girl."
Millie quickly formed a strong bond with the twin Nubian goats who had arrived at the farm just a day before, Ramsey and Grady, forming an adorable trio — with her as the leader!
They write on Facebook, "How anyone could abandon this sweet little baby is beyond our imagination." The group also happily reported that she is now thriving in the friendlier environment.
Which you can clearly see in all the super cute photos they share of her! In spite of the sadness that brought her to them, they couldn't be more grateful to see Millie's sweet face every day.
As you can see, she's definitely lets her personality shine through! Leaves are one of the best ways to make Millie a very happy girl. That is, when she's not too busy chasing the twins around.
