Mother Cat Accepts Baby Squirrel As One Of Her Own

Humans adopt babies every day, but we're not the only ones. Animals do it, too. Dogs, cats, and other non-human animals are emotional creatures with empathy and instincts to nurture — and that's why many animal moms adopt babies who are not of their own bloodline, or even of their own species.

In 2014, a California man was walking around his neighborhood when he found a tiny and freezing baby squirrel in the middle of the road. He must've been a complete softie, because he immediately picked it up and asked his wife, Liz, if they could keep him. Liz obliged, especially considering the fact their cat, Missy, had recently given birth to six kittens.

With Missy removed from the feline pack, Liz placed the squirrel they named Peanut into the litter of kittens. Depending on their reaction, she planned to then introduce Missy to her newly-formed family.

So, how would mama and her brand new brood react to their tiny friend? Watch the video below to find out… and get ready to say, "AWW!"
