Mom Of Four Dies After Falling On Treadmill At LA Fitness And ‘Not One Worker’ Helped Her

A mother of four was working out with her sister at a gym when she reportedly fell and hit her head in what her sister called a "bizarre accident." The sisters, Delrie Rosario and Marissa Woods, were at an LA Fitness location in Kent, Washington, last Friday. Marissa said Delrie, 36, worked out regularly, but this time, she fell on the treadmill and later died at a local hospital.

“She tried to slow the machine down. I thought maybe she just missed a step. She just collapsed, [and] hit her head on the machine,” Marissa said, according to KIRO-7 News.

Marissa said she screamed for help, asking if anyone knew CPR. She said that other people working out at the gym came over and tried to help, but that gym employees did not.

"I think they were in shock," Marissa said.

Delrie later died at a local hospital. Her coworkers started a GoFundMe page to provide financial support to Delrie's four children, Delaino, Rickey, Ric’Kae and Delaiah. According to the GoFundMe, Delrie worked two jobs to provide for her children and was an "amazing mother."

Marissa also commented on how her sister was a great mom.

“[She was] a mother first. Always everything she did was for kids. She worked so hard for kids,” Marissa said.
