Motocross Champion Gives Up The Sport To Save A Child’s Life

What would you give up to save the life of a stranger? A motocross champion proves that compassion truly knows no bounds after offering her kidney to a dying 12-year-old boy, with whom she now shares a heartwarming and unbreakable bond.

Adrienne Cooper is a two-time motocross champion who's made a name and life for herself on the racetrack. But all of that faded away the first time she met 10-year-old Logan Carson, a sick boy who was desperately in need of a kidney transplant to save his life.

The two met at a race, and Adrienne had heard of Logan long before meeting him in person, and within the first moments of meeting him had made up her mind. "I had heard about his story, how he was sick before — he needed a kidney," she recalls. "I decided the first day that I met him, probably within an hour of meeting him, that I would step up and be his donor."

In doing so, Adrienne wouldn't be able to ride again. But her sacrifice paled in comparison to the change to save the life of this beaming little boy, whose favorite things include motocross and Star Wars, and who she says takes joy even in being able to watch other children play.

"He's definitely a part of my family forever," she says with a wide smile. "I'm in love with the little guy."
