Being pregnant and giving birth may be hard, but most moms will know that the real work begins when you get home from the hospital.
This is especially true if it's your second or third child. Suddenly you have to juggle caring for multiple little humans instead of just one. For these reasons, it's normal for some moms to seek the help of a nanny.
Finding someone you can trust with your most prized possessions is very important. Some moms have very extreme requirements for their child carer. However, most moms just want someone who will keep their child safe, happy, fed, and who above all is honest.
When one mom from Taiwan noticed that the breast milk she had been keeping in the fridge was running out at a quicker pace than her baby could drink it, she got suspicious.
She eventually discovered that the nanny had been keeping it for herself.

Back in the day, the average woman spent much of her life taking care of her babies, which meant being ready to breastfeed at a minute's notice.
This system doesn't work as well anymore these days for many moms who work or have commitments that take them outside the household.
Luckily, thanks to the invention of breast pumps, moms are able to store their nutritious milk for times when they won't be around — like when the nanny is watching the kids.

The mom in this story — who goes by her last name, Lin — was pumping her own milk and storing it in the fridge so the nanny she had recently hired could have a supply for her baby on hand.
According to Taiwan News, Lin had recently entrusted a 58-year-old nanny she carefully vetted for this responsibility.

As far as Lin could tell, the nanny loved her two children, a toddler son and infant daughter, and was perfectly fit to take care of them.
She even offered to help while Lin participated in her yuezi, which Taiwan Times explains as being "a traditional form of postpartum confinement" when Lin was home for the most part.

One day during yuezi, Lin saw the nanny carrying an empty bottle of milk back to the kitchen at a curious time that didn't line up with feedings.
When she realized that the only explanation was that the nanny had drank the milk herself, she asked her nicely to, "in the future, if my daughter is full, please feed the rest to my son!"

Lin became suspicious of her nanny's behavior and took to her nanny cam to see what was going on with the breast milk.
What she found was footage of the nanny guzzling down the milk herself in an area of the kitchen that she thought was out of view of the camera. Lin was immediately disgusted.

Worse yet, Lin noticed that the nanny wasn't even taking care to finish feeding her daughter before helping herself.
Lin shares, "She didn't even bother to burp her!"

Understandably, Lin felt the need to end the professional relationship with her nanny.
Surprisingly, the nanny didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with her behavior and even tried to turn the tables on Lin. The nanny sent a message:
The previous mother I worked for let me take her breast milk home, and if the baby had not finished it, she would not make a big deal about it. She even said, ‘Auntie, if you are brave enough to drink it, then that’s OK.’ It really is one grain of rice that can feed a hundred people, I originally did not want to go to your home anyway.

Needless to say, Lin is making extra sure that her babies are receiving their share from now on.
Lin also wants to spread the word about this woman, telling others to "watch out for this nanny, do not let other families become victimized as well!"
