The midshipmen of Annapolis's Naval Academy have given us a song to listen to on repeat for the rest of the week!
If you're not aware of how much of an impact Bruno Mars' hit has made, just do a little research: everyone from cops to kittens is dancing to it! Even your favorite movie characters are getting down to the tune!
Well, these midshipmen didn't want to miss out on the fun, but they've revamped the song and dance.
Instead, over 50 of them performed "Naptown Funk" — "Naptown" being a nickname for Annapolis, Maryland.
With the help of the city and his his peers, Midshipman First Class (senior) Rylan Tuohy wrote and choreographed the music video parodying the single, and created a hit I think we can all enjoy!
The song's lyrics were changed around to reflect the exciting yet rigorous lifestyle of the midshipmen.
But this video wasn't just made just for fun (though, I'm sure it was fun to make). Tuohy is also responsible for the viral hit, "We Give A Ship." These videos are "spirit videos," a way for the midshipmen to bond ahead of the highly anticipated military football games. My favorite rivalry? Army versus Navy!
