Couple Had Never Met Neighbors Until Quarantine, Only To Discover They’re Blood Relatives

Kjetil and Zoe Njoten live in Los Angeles with their 10-year-old son.

Their neighbors, Erik and Jen Strom, live four houses away with their 4-year-old daughter.

The two families had never really spoken beyond the occasional and casual hello.

During quarantine, their neighborhood hosted an impromptu gathering, social-distance style.

While conversing, the Njotens and Stroms realized they were actually connected by their deep-rooted Norwegian backgrounds.

Coincidentally, Jen's family comes from a town in Norway located just a few hours away from where Kjetil grew up.

Erik's family comes from a small, mysterious island that they'd never been able to find. The island is home to only a "couple dozen" people.

"Wouldn't it be even crazier if we were somehow related?!" Erik remarked.

And that's where the story takes a pretty crazy turn. It's nice to see people making unexpected connections during such a disconnected time.

You just never know who could be living next door to you …
