Nervous 16-Year-Old Brings His Father To Tears, In Front Of Millions. Wow.

It takes an incredible amount of guts to step on stage and audition for a reality show — but Nicholas McDonald, 16, did it with such grace and skill, it's no wonder he received a standing ovation. Nicholas' rendition of Christina Perry's "A Thousand Years" was strong from the start, and by the end I was such a fan. But what touched me the most was how proud and loving his family was as they stood backstage. The tears in his father's eyes nearly made me cry, and his little sister was simply adorable. What a wonderful family, and talented young man!
