If you ever must enter the hospital, you should be so lucky as to have Jared Axen as your nurse.
Known by his patients at the Valencia Hospital in California as the "Angel sent from Heaven," Jared doesn't comfort his patients the traditional way. You see, Jared incorporates his passion for music into his profession by singing beautiful, soothing songs to his patients. By doing so, he's able to connect with them on a deeper and more personal level than anyone else at the hospital. On his blog, Jared writes, "…hospice is not about giving up. It is about making those final months, weeks, days, and hours, the most meaningful."
Through classic hymns and Frank Sinatra standards, watch as Jared literally brings his ailing patients to tears. Norma, the elderly woman in the video breaks down in her hospital bed — these are bittersweet tears, but they're tears of joy. It's no wonder the following video went viral, racking up more than three million views. It's incredible to see him so deeply touch these people who need love, care and comfort more than anything else. So compassionate.
