Paris Hilton waited a month before trying to change her son's diaper for the first time, and social media users are judging her for it. In a clip from her reality series Paris in Love, Paris' sister, Nicky Hilton, seems surprised when she learns that Paris has never changed her son's diaper before.
Paris' son, Phoenix, was 1 month old at the time, and Nicky and Phoenix's nanny helped Paris learn how to change his diaper. The clip that went viral on TikTok is captioned with "Not Paris learning how to change her sons diaper for the first time after a month."
Nicky was visiting Paris, 42, for her birthday. When Paris picked up her son and took him to the changing table, she said, "I said I wouldn’t do this on my birthday, but I will for you. Anything for Phoenix."
After learning that Paris had never changed her son's diaper before, Nicky appeared shocked and asked, "You’ve never done it?"

"I'm scared," Paris admitted. And people were pretty judgmental about it.
"Paris Hilton changing her sons diaper for the first time after a MONTH is insane," one person wrote on X.
Others didn't think the judgment was fair.
Another person on X pointed out: "I wonder how many dads out there have never changed their children’s diapers? ."
The shaming got even worse, with one X user judging Paris for having her children, Phoenix and London, via surrogate and implying that she is a lesser mom because she didn't "conceive, carry, or deliver her child."
"Who’s the child’s real mother?" the X user added.
For some, the reason for the apparent disconnect between Paris and her baby is obvious: Paris is rich.
"Rich people are so out of touch with reality this is read sad," one TikTok user wrote.
"How do these celebs even call themselves parents," another person commented on the video shared on TikTok. "Paris, kardashians etc their kids childhood memories are literally gonna be with nannies everyday."
But others weren't sure this was the reason, especially because Paris' sister also seemed to not understand why Paris hadn't learned to change a diaper.
"Clearly it's not a money thing bc her sister is looking at her appalled," one person wrote on TikTok.
Some people on TikTok were more sympathetic and tried to understand Paris' perspective from different points of view.
"Stop judging," one person wrote. "Her family didn't prioritize her and she's trying to do that with her son and learn. You guys forget she had a different upbringing"
"After watching the whole season I think she wants kids to give them a childhood she didn't get but is too scared to do something wrong/mess them up," another TikTok user wrote.
Although many were quick to shame Paris for the way she seems to be taking care of her child, some TikTok users admitted that if they had the money and resources that Paris has, they wouldn't want to change diapers either.
"If i had the funds…I wouldn't have changed a diaper for a month either," one TikTok user wrote. Though one person responded saying that it's important for bonding with the baby, others chimed in and said there are other ways to bond.
