Classic Clip From ‘The Partridge Family’ Performing Their Hit ‘I Think I Love You’

You don't see a lot of musical TV shows on the air anymore. I can only think of one off the top of my head and it only premiered last year! And at any rate, it's not exactly the same as the heyday of shows like The Monkees or The Adventures of Ozzy and Harriet with their son, Ricky Nelson, performing on a regular basis. Teens were glued to their screens every time those shows came on!

In 1970, audiences were introduced to a new show about a close-knit family of pop song singers called The Partridge Family. Starring David Cassidy as the oldest son, Keith, and Shirley Jones, who went by the same name and also happened to be Cassidy's real life step-mom. The show featured adorable bubblegum music in each episode. Their biggest hit paid homage to the confusion we all feel when struck with our first taste of puppy love. Their debut single, "I Think I Love You," got the fictional family all the way to the #1 spot on the Hot 100 Billboard charts.

For this episode, the band performs their tune at a women's empowerment rally hosted by one of Keith's many love interests throughout the series. Despite wanting them to sing something more in-line with the feminist group's message and nearly canceling the appearance altogether, Keith sticks to his guns and the family launches into the catchy tune. Before the song is even over, his disgruntled girlfriend completely forgets her frustration. No one can resist that feathered hair charm!
