Who doesn’t love dog kisses? I can't get enough of my pet's affection, but sometimes, even with good hygiene, my dog's breath can be less than appealing.
After searching the internet for a solution, I got really excited to try these homemade "Puppermint Patties," a recommendation from AvoDerm Natural Pet Food. Not only are they grain-free, the mint is odor-busting and can aid in your pet's digestion.
While these should not take the place of proper dental care, these doggie snacks make a delicious treat for your four-legged friends. Every time I make these, my dog goes crazy for them, and it makes me feel good that I'm giving my pet a healthy homemade option.
Now, get ready to freshen Fido's breath with these little bites of doggy heaven!
Ingredients:
2 cups almond flour
1/4 cup coconut flour
1 Tbsp. coconut oil
3/4 cup water
4 Tbsp. fresh mint, finely chopped
To start making these peppermint treats, preheat your oven to 350 °F.

Next, finely chop fresh mint and slice as thinly as you can.

Measure out the other ingredients and combine together in a bowl. (If the dough is too dry, add a little more water; or if it's too wet, add more coconut flour.) Add 4 Tbsp. fresh mint

Mix together to form a ball.

Roll out the dough on parchment paper, then sprinkle a little coconut flour to prevent from sticking.

Cut out treats that will be perfect for your pup. Get creative using a variety of cookie cutouts.

*Quick tip: If you don't have any cookie cutters around the house, you can use other kitchen items like measuring cups or a round glass to shape the cookies.

Another great option is to get printouts from the internet because they work just as well, too! Here, I used a sharp knife and cut around the image to make these adorable dog bones.

Place your treats on a cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes.

Let cool for at least 30 minutes before feeding to your pet. Store treats in a sealed container or plastic bag.

Happy baking!
