Dying Man’s Wish Is To See His Dog One Last Time — So Hospital Staff Brings Her To His Bed

Donna Jenkins is the founder of Zachary’s Paws for Healing, a foundation dedicated to providing hospital visits to sick patients craving some time with their adoring pets.

Although hospital regulations usually don’t allow pets to come visit their owners, Juravinski Hospital, located in Ontario, Canada, is making an exception.

This Foundation all started after Jenkins’ nephew, Zachary Noble, had been dying of cancer last fall. His main wish was to see and spend time with his dog while at the hospital.

It’s beautiful that this hospital is able to take into consideration what’s really important to their patients, and make it a possibility for them. There's no denying the benefits that owning a puppy can bring, especially when ill.

Studies show that contact with animals can provide stress release, and reduce stress hormones and high blood pressure. This foundation truly does provide miracles, and a sense of calm for patients who get to be reunited with their loving pets.

The love between a pet and their owner is seemingly unconditional. It will never change or feel judgmental because pets see their owner, not all the tubes and wiring that they’re attached to due to their condition. No matter the illness, pets serve as one of the best medicines a sick patient can receive.

What a beautiful idea that Donna Jenkins made into a reality!
