Rufo, the pit bull mix, was the dog nobody wanted. At one, he was dropped off at the dog pound where he'd spend nearly 22 hours a day living in his cage. The lovable pup waited patiently for his new forever home but weeks turned into months and months turned into years.
Finally, as Rufo neared his 7th birthday, a woman stopped by the shelter. The pit bull caught her eye because he wasn't vicious. Instead, he closed his eyes and wagged his tail when she went to pet him. Although she couldn't adopt the dog, she set out to find someone who could before the dog would be euthanized. Finally, after a few phone calls, she got in touch with an older man, who had lost his beloved dog years prior. Although Rufo would not to take the other dog's place, the man wanted to begin a new chapter with another dog companion.
Well, the second the man and Rufo met, it was love at first sight! The pit bull went in for a big, sloppy kiss. Aww! The dog got adopted that day and has been thanking his new owner for giving him the love and attention he truly deserves. In the video below, you'll see just how happy Rufo is today.
