Girl Wears Plaid Dress For Picture Day, Making Her The 17th Girl In Her Family To Wear It

Picture day is a very important day for children during the school year.

They might not always realize how big of a deal it is, but all parents pay special attention on that day. These pictures are the memories they will have of their child for years to come!

When it comes to kids, if they know they're taking a picture, they will have their own reactions. Some children love getting dressed up and posing for the camera.

Other children hate getting their picture taken and want nothing to do with it.

An easy way to meet in the middle with a reluctant child is letting them pick out what they're going to wear for their picture.

But Aubrey Brandt didn't exactly get that choice. In Aubrey's family, there is a tradition for picture day that started 51 years ago.

Aubrey's grandma bought a red plaid dress for her oldest daughter, and after she wore it for picture day, it has been passed down through the family and worn by every single girl.

Except Aubrey didn't want to wear it! In order to keep the tradition going, her mom negotiated with her and Aubrey wore pants and sneakers under the dress. But she wore it!

If you love seeing traditions kept alive, you will enjoy this 60-year tradition of men in one family all wearing the same sweater on their school picture days!
