Mom And Son Look Out The Window, And Realize A Swarm Of Cops Are There To Surprise Them

R.J. Sy is 5 years old. And boy, does he love cops! It makes sense. Cops have to be strong in the face of very touching situations and so does R.J. The little guy has battled Stage 4 neuroblastoma for two years. Soon, he will succumb to his battle, but he is currently undergoing hospice care at his house.

One day, during a chance meeting with his mother, Cheely Sy, a woman got R.J. the chance to meet with dozens of members of the NYPD. He was honored. Once Police Commissioner James O'Neill got wind that R.J. wanted to see him, and the two got to hang out.

Since then, countless members of the police force have sent R.J. their patches, hats, and he even got his very own badge. The outpouring of support was already incredible as it is.

Little did they know that it was only the beginning.

One day, all of a sudden, dozens of policemen, policewomen, and dogs appeared outside of their house. It was a parade of blue, and they were all there just to see R.J. The officers realized that the little boy could no longer leave his house to visit them, so they decided to visit him.

“We’re so blessed that we got all of these people together for my son when there’s no guarantee that he’ll even see it,” said Cheely. “I know he feels all the love because we all do."

Ever since the cops have shown their support, every time R.J. hears a siren racing by, he tells him it's the cops looking out for him, protecting him.

R.J. won't get to fulfill his dream of becoming a cop, but at least during his short time on Earth, he was still able to bond with the men and women he looked up to.
