If you had the chance to hug someone you respect and admire, you'd jump on that opportunity right away, right?
Ollie Carroll is only five years old, and he wants to hug those who support him. Ollie has Batten disease, which means he has limited to no function of his legs and he has seizures. Eventually, all of Ollie's muscles will stop working.
But this illness did not keep him from standing up to hug Prince Harry.
This wonderful moment happened while Ollie was attending the WellChild Awards, where he received the Inspirational Child award for ages four to six. It was at that moment Ollie stood up.
Prince Harry is the patron of the WellChild charity. He was there to recognize all of these children and honor their courage, as well as honor the medical professionals that are striving to make their lives better each day.
Ollie's mom, Lucy, said that he was drawn to Harry as he made his rounds saying hello to all of the children. "He was thrilled – they both were. He (Harry) is very privileged because Ollie cannot stand up by himself and he used his strength to stand up and hug him," she told DailyMail.
Prince Harry seems like a true angel, as he spends so much of his free time bringing attention to many wonderful charities. After meeting Ollie, I am sure he felt honored to hug such a strong little boy!
