Prince William And Prince Harry Weren’t Speaking Before Archie Was Born, Sources Say

The last few years has seen the rumor mill go into overdrive where the royal family is concerned. There was all the drama at the hands of Meghan Markle's father and stepsister. Then there was alleged discord within the royal family. As Harry and Meghan announced they were expecting and began planning for their next chapter, rumors swirled that Prince William and Prince Harry were butting heads. Some people believed the drama stemmed from their wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.

A source close to the royal family spilled some more details about what allegedly happened between Prince William and Prince Harry. Siblings, even adult ones, can fall out when they don't see eye to eye.

Luckily, with some loving intervention from Prince Charles and the birth of baby Archie, things got back on track for the brothers, the source says. Getting there wasn't easy, but the brothers are close once again.

Rumors of a royal feud have been rampant on the internet for the last few years. The details, including which members of the family are involved, vary depending on what you read.

Initially, it was believed that the issue was between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. The ladies were thought to have been feuding after an argument regarding Princess Charlotte's dress for the royal wedding.

Later on, it was alleged that the feud was actually not between the duchesses but the dukes. Harry supposedly felt that William hadn't been welcoming enough to Meghan, according to royal reporter Katie Nicholl.

"Harry felt William wasn’t rolling out the red carpet for Meghan and told him so," a mutual friend of the brothers told Katie. "They had a bit of a fall out which was only resolved when Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort. That’s when the Cambridges invited the Sussexes to spend Christmas with them."

William was reportedly concerned that things between Harry and Meghan had moved too fast. That's why he held back where Meghan was concerned.

The tension reportedly escalated when Harry decided to split royal households. Harry and Meghan wanted to live a life outside of the public eye, which is what was ultimately behind their decision to move to Frogmore Cottage and then leave royal duties behind alltogether.

Katie told Entertainment Tonight that at one point, the brothers weren't speaking at all. "It's absolutely the case that the brothers did fall out," she explained. "I was told by a very senior royal source that actually they weren't talking to each other at one point."

Luckily, Archie's arrival helped mend the rift between the brothers. Katie explained, "I certainly think now that Archie is here, it has probably really helped to improve the relationship. William is over-the-moon that his brother is a dad."

William was thrilled to celebrate his brother's entrance into the world of parenting. At the time he told reporters, "Obviously thrilled, absolutely thrilled, and obviously looking forward to seeing them in the next few days when things have quietened down. I’m very pleased and glad to welcome my own brother into the sleep deprivation society that is parenting."

Kate and Meghan seemed to be enjoying each other's company at Trooping the Colour. They rode in a carriage together with the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry.

The ladies have certainly had the opportunity to bond over their children. Archie's birthday is just two weeks after Prince Louis' birthday. The two children are just a year apart.

As for Prince William and Prince Harry, this new chapter has redefined the relationship between the brothers. Now that William and Harry are both parents, sources say they're definitely trying to focus on the bigger picture and ignore petty arguments.

While they didn't go in the same direction when it comes to matters of being royal, they share a bond that's undeniable. The circumstances and events of their upbringing are uniquely theirs, and theirs alone.
