Princess Beatrice is officially a mom!
The 33-year-old Princess of York has welcomed her first child with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The two are celebrating the birth of their baby girl, who makes them a family of four along with Edo's son, Christopher "Wolfie" Mapelli Mozzi.
The joyous news was announced by Beatrice herself on Twitter. Royal social platforms also celebrated the birth of Queen Elizabeth's 12th great-grandchild, the second grandchild of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
On the morning of September 20, Princess Beatrice announced the arrival of her baby girl.
"So delighted to share the news of the safe arrival of our daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London," she tweeted.
"Thank you to the Midwife team and everyone at the hospital for their wonderful care."
Buckingham Palace released a formal announcement of the birth. "Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London," the statement reads.
"The baby weighs 6 pounds and 2 ounces."
"The new baby's grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news," it continued.
"The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care."
"Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf," the statement concludes.
Christopher is the 5-year-old son of Edoardo and ex-fiancée Dara Huang.
Unlike sister Eugenie's son August, Beatrice's baby will have a title. That is because Edo descends from Italian aristocracy, so any child of his would be a count or nobile donna. Since Beatrice and Eugenie weren't bestowed titles when they each married, their children will also not have British titles.
