At this point, most dog owners know that if you go to a Starbucks and ask for a Puppuccino, they will serve you a disposable cup filled with whipped cream for your pup. But with it being prime Pumpkin Spice Latte season, I wanted to see if there was a way to let my pet indulge in the fall treat.
It can be tough not to share your food when an adorable dog makes its way into your lap, so I set out to find a dog-friendly recipe that we could both enjoy. After a little poking around on Pinterest, I discovered a great recipe for Pumpkin Spice Puppuccinos.
Not only are they a quick and delicious snack, they're especially healthy for your pup because they have pumpkin and coconut milk, which are miracle foods for digestion. In addition, the coconut milk helps protect against illnesses and can improve a dog's coat. And did I mention — this only takes about 5 minutes to make!
These treats will taste as sweet as candy to your four-legged friend, and the natural health benefits make it even better!
While Smokey the pug gives this pumpkin treat four paws up, remember that every dog is different, so please check with your vet to see if this recipe is suitable for your pet. Now, let's get cooking!
To make this easy and delicious recipe, all I needed was unsweetened coconut milk, ground cinnamon, pure pumpkin, and a blender.

First, I measured ¾ cup unsweetened coconut milk.

I poured the milk into the blender. Then I added ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon.

Finally, I measured out 1 cup of pure pumpkin and plopped it into the blender.

I blended the ingredients together for about 30 seconds — or until smooth.

Finally, I poured my smoothie mixture into these cute Starbucks cups and garnished with a dog bone. (The last time I went to Starbucks, the barista gave me a few extra cups for free!)

The official taste test... Smokey just couldn't get enough!

Looks like we have one very satisfied customer!

If you have leftover mixture like I did, don't throw it out! These make great frozen treats as well. Simply pour your mixture into an ice cube tray, freeze overnight, and give as a yummy snack later.
