Rambo The Rescued Pit Bull Finally Gets The Life He Deserves

Pit bulls sometimes have a false reputation for being vicious and dangerous. These behaviors, however, can typically be attributed to a poor upbringing by humans.

For reasons most compassionate people can't understand, there are horrible people out there who raise these innocent animals to fight one another.

Unfortunately for Rambo, he was raised in these conditions. He wasn't raised to fight, though, he was raised to bait the fighters.

When rescuers found the poor pup in the woods, his body was in shock. Judging by his serious injuries, it was clear someone had rendered him defenseless and used him as a target for the fighter dogs.

Veterinarians at Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency (CARES) did everything they could for poor Rambo, but his hind legs had to be amputated due to his injuries. Although his injuries seem dire, this dog escaped a terrible fate the day he was picked up by his rescuers.

Despite his upbringing, Rambo took to the staff right away.

You would think after a life of abuse, any animal would shy away from humans, but not Rambo!

The entire staff at CARES fell madly in love with Rambo, showering him with kisses and dog toys and cuddles to his heart's content.

Although Rambo had makeshift legs made, he wasn't able to walk right after his surgery.

The staff wheeled him around in a wheelbarrow so he could get some fresh air during his recovery.

Rambo has a few surgeries left to go.

His doctors hope that his future surgeries will enable him to walk comfortably without the use of a wheelchair.

Until then, Rambo is adjusting to his foster mom's new home.

He even has a new, furry foster brother to hang out with!

It's truly amazing how forgiving Rambo is, considering his upbringing.

He is affectionate to humans and other animals alike, despite never knowing kindness from either.

Rambo's forgiving nature and positive outlook on life is sure to land him the forever home he so deserves.
