Boyan Slat may not even be 21 years old yet, but his idea to save the ocean from thousands of pounds of garbage in the next ten years is changing ocean conservation as we know it. After being recognized as one of the 20 Most Promising Entrepreneurs Worldwide, Boyan started to put his idea into action.
Around 100 people are now working with Boyan, and they are crowd funding their project to grow even larger. According to Boyan, his pollution solution is cheaper than traditional methods, and includes "an array of floating barriers [that] first catches and concentrates the debris [from the ocean], enabling a platform to efficiently extract the plastic afterwards."
