One of the most important days in a person's life is their graduation day. There's so much reason to celebrate and there's no better feeling than having someone you love there to cheer you on, like this brother who drove 1,000 miles to surprise his sister at her graduation.
But what if the person you loved was graduating with you?
That's the case for Elijah Harris-Carter, a student in Renton, WA, who will be graduating with someone very special to him: His mom.
"Whenever I'm asked about my biggest regret in life, I say hands down, it was dropping out of high school," says Enjoli Harris-Carter, Elijah's mother.
When she became pregnant with Elijah, she was nearing her high school graduation, but ended up dropping out. It wasn't until Elijah made it to high school that she felt compelled to do the same. And if you think Elijah was embarrassed to have his mom in his graduating class with him, think again.
"I always find it cool that my mom is grabbing this opportunity," he says. "Always doing the best she can with it." The mother and son will both be speaking at their graduation ceremony in front of 6,000 people cheering them on, inspired by their story.
It's clear that a family that graduates together, stays together!
