Cadet Saves Football Mascot Dog From Getting Trampled! What A Hero!

It wasn't the blocks on the field during a recent Texas A&M football game that got national attention this week, it was actually one block off the field that captured America's hearts.

During a play, Southern Methodist University's reciever Der'rick Thompson missed a catch and ran out of bounds at a serious clip. Thompson couldn't stop as fast as he wanted to and ended up running straight for the much beloved Texas A&M mascot named Reveille. It looked as though poor Reveille was a goner until a fast thinking Texas A&M cadet named Ryan Krieder came in saved the day.

With Reveille's leash still in his hand, Krieder ran in front of Thompson and shielded his body away from the dog like it was no big thing! It's a pretty awesome sight to see.

Commandant of Texas A&M's Corps of Cadets, Brigadier General Joe E. Ramirez commended Krieder on the school's Facebook page and has already figured out how to save thank you. He is planning on purchasing Krieder's Cadet senior boots, which hold a price tag of upwards of $1,000. The boots are a time honored tradition of all Corps of Cadets moving to their last year at the school.

It's a well deserved thank you for such a selfless act. Way to go Krieder, you make us all proud!

Enjoy and please SHARE this awesome save!
