When His Wife’s Ring Fell Down A Vent, He Did Something Brilliant!

If I had a nickel for every time a sink drain or floor vent claimed a possession of mine — well, I wouldn't be rich, but I'd certainly have quite a few nickels.

Earring backings, toothpaste caps, contact lenses: no matter how insignificant the items, it's always such a pain when they plummet into those deep, dark holes, usually never to return again.

Thankfully, however, I've never had the misfortune of losing something truly valuable, like a priceless ring — but if I ever did, I'd definitely want this guy around to save the day!

When this crafty husband, Imgur user "Victoknight," learned that his wife's engagement ring had fallen down a floor vent, he decided not to call and hire a professional.

Instead, in true Macgyver style, he reached for his toolbox and got creative — and the results are as adorable as they are impressive.

When his wife's engagement ring fell down the floor vent, this hubby refused to hire someone. Instead, he decided to take on the extraction himself — MacGyver style! Using just a webcam, flashlight, and tape measure, he began the rescue mission.

First, as he prepared for the extraction, he set up his laptop nearby. Whatever the webcam saw within the vent, it would send in a live feed to his computer.

Next, flashlight and webcam securely mounted, he slipped the tape measure down the vent. When he spotted the missing ring, he was in total disbelief. It had worked! He quickly grabbed a straightened wire hanger.

With the tape measure in one hand and the hanger in another, he began to fish around. Finally, success! His wife must have been a very happy lady!
