When we saw the video below, we couldn't quite believe what we were watching.
Raised by a Siberian husky, the kitten in the video montage below shows a cat who appears to think she's — get this — a puppy. Not only are Rosie and Lilo the sweetest fur babies ever, but they appear to be inseparable best of friends.
"Lilo the Siberian husky is a wonderful surrogate to our new foster, little Rosie," writes their owner on Lilo's YouTube channel. When Rosie joined their family, she was very sick and needed special care. Rosie let her suckle and showed her affection much like any dog would for her litter. Lilo, they say, is mostly responsible for little Rosie's recovery. "Lilo has always had an innate motherly instinct, but she really surprised us when she went full surrogate mode!"
Certainly this wouldn't be the first time we've seen a dog take on the responsibilities of foster. A while back we posted about Bailey, a sweet Golden Retriever who became a caretaker of sorts for ten motherless chicks.
"Lilo has never had puppies of her own, and never will," writes her owner on Lilo's page. "But motherhood may just be her calling." We couldn't agree more!
