Experts Say New Royal Family Portrait Sans Harry And Meghan Reveals There’s ‘No Way Back’

This past weekend, the royal family released another photo to the public. This one, however, was different from all those before it.

The image features King Charlesand his wife, Camilla, Queen Consort, standing next to Prince William and Princess Catherine in formal attire at Buckingham Palace.

It very notably does not include Prince Harry or Meghan Markle, who famously left work as royals and now live in California.

The important thing to note is when the photo was taken. The image was captured on the eve of the late queen's funeral.

Royal expert Richard Kay says this picture is a message: The royal family will carry on in times of sorrow as a strong, united front.

The expert also notes that both Prince Harry and Meghan were in town, if not in the very facility, when the photo was taken.

"There is a finality about this photo that suggests there is no way back for a couple who could have been at the epicentre of royalty, but are now at its margins," Richard claims.

Richard goes on to argue that Prince Harry and Meghan would have had to "share the spotlight" with the senior royals. But back in California, they are "at the center of their own production."

While this photo in a historic one, other commenters insist that there is still plenty of hope for Prince Harry to be brought back into the fold, if he so desired.

As we look forward to what things will look like in King Charles’ reign, royal columnist Tina Brown says he “will need” his youngest son Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan.

Tina, author of the new book The Palace Papers, talked about the possibility of Harry "going back" on the podcast Royally Obsessed.

“My guess is Charles is really going to want them back — sort of need them back, actually — because Harry and Meghan were huge assets to the whole royal repertoire, quite frankly,” Tina explained.

“They had a young appeal that was very, very potent in the country.”

We are sure to see many more historic photos from the palace as the family — and the world — adjusts to the new order of things in the royal family.

In the tweet with the portrait, the photo was captioned, "Their Majesties The King and The Queen Consort with Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales. Taken at Buckingham Palace on 18th September."
