I have always been a pretty hard core "dog person", not because I don't like cats, but more because I love dogs.
After watching this video, I can honestly say that if I were able to have a sand cat as a pet, I would become a cat person in a heartbeat.
To be honest, I had no idea these gorgeous creatures even existed until seeing this, but that's most likely due to the fact that up until now, they were thought to be extinct in one of the three main areas that they are found.
The awesome looking felines are about the size of a regular house cat, with bigger ears and extra padded feet that make them perfectly adapted to the desert locations that they live in, but unfortunately they aren't exactly the kind of cat you can domesticate.
You can however check them out in person if you happen to be in Tel Aviv, Israel, where they are now home to both full grown sand cats and litter of kitten sand cats as well!
The kittens are still very young and a little skittish, just like the kittens we have at home, but give them some time and they will surely become the stars of the zoo!
Looks like I'll be staying a dog person for a little bit longer!
