When we first meet Luna, we see a hopeless, helpless stray wandering the streets of Mexico. Emaciated, starving, sad…and suffering not only from malnourishment, but also from cancer.
When a photographer named Tracey Buyce spotted Luna while out shooting, she immediately took out her camera and began snapping pictures to capture the poor dog's terrible condition — but she also knew something bigger had to be done.
With the support of CANDi, Buyce facilitated the immediate care Luna needed to save her life and treat her of her cancer. Minutes after Buyce posted Luna's pictures on Facebook, a loving family from Saratoga Springs, NY — all the way over in the states — responded and adopted her.
Luna has had a long, arduous journey from being rescued in Mexico to finding her new forever home in New York. She's finally where she belongs.

While out taking photos of Mexico, a photographer named Tracey Buyce spotted Luna. It was clear the dog needed help, and fast.

Starving and cancer-stricken, Luna spent her days wandering the streets alone. Tracey decided to rescue Luna and get her the help she needed.

Luna was taken to CANDi, a foundation dedicated to saving the lives of stray animals. Her cancer was treated, and Luna was on her way to health.

Miraculously, a family saw the photos Tracey took of Luna, and fell in love. Luna was soon adopted!!

Look at Luna today. Adoption is a beautiful thing.
