As drivers zoom past Motiva Performance in Albuquerque, New Mexico, they spot a woman perched on the roof of the building.
Although it is a strange and confusing sight, the proud mom named Shonna Jordan wouldn't have it any other way.
In the video below, posted on May 8, 2017, Shonna explains, "We have a choice every day, and every single choice that we make can either be made out of fear or it can be made out of love. And I just hope that during this time, where things seem to be a little unsteady, that people can just remember to just make decisions out of love."
Every year, Shonna spends the week before Mother's Day living on a roof with a tent and a few chairs in order to raise awareness and funds to support the homeless population in her area.
According to her website, Shonna's week-long "Get Mom Down" event plans to collect $200,000, which will be donated to the Barrett House, Four Corners Home for Children, and Houses with Hope.
For her third year of "Get Mom Down," Shonna will spend her week on the roof with her own mother, making the moment even more special.
