This fun and simple "Do It Yourself" craft will have the kids loving every second of it from start to finish! Instead of just running to the store to get this exciting sidewalk chalk, the little ones will get an extra learning experience by combining all the correct ingredients and personalizing their own special chalk paint recipe in this fun activity!
The paint comes out beautifully vibrant and exciting as it dries on the pavement. And while the kids are stirring and mixing the paint colors we're sure they'll have an incredibly fun time before the "fun" part of this project even begins!
The recipe for your own sidewalk chalk paint is about as simple as it can possibly get.
Here's what you'll need:
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/3 cup corn starch
- Washable paint or food coloring
- Fork (for stirring)
- Measuring cup
- Containers for paint
When you add the corn starch along with the water, make sure to stir it all up until it has about the same consistency of paint. Add a few drops of washable paint or food coloring and stir it up again until the color is nice and even! Pour your “paint” into little cups for your little one to easily use on the sidewalk!
When all is said and done the paint washes off; while it may need a bit of scrubbing to get it all off depending on your sidewalk, this is certainly a wonderful summer project that the kids are sure to love!
