Single Mom Lives In Forgotten House For Free, 9 Yrs Later City Doesn’t Know She’s There

In 2005, a mother-of-three named Lisa Hardy was working as a leasing agent in Indianapolis when her boss gave her an offer she couldn't refuse. Her company said she could move into any of its houses and live there rent-free — for as long as she worked there.

Lisa took her company up on the offer and moved her and her kids into a two-story, three-bedroom house that was built in 1910. It was adorable, clean, spacious and move-in ready. It had a porch, a garden and a parking pad. But she never signed a rental agreement. All she ever paid for was utilities and a security system.
