Scared 8-Year-Old Sees Car Roll Over Grandma’s Leg, Realizes She’s The Only One Who Can Help

When a true emergency occurs, it's hard to remain calm and collected. Even as adults, panic can still settle in and distract us from finding a solution. Luckily, when a little girl named Skyla Sullivan was faced with a horrifying incident, she was able to keep it together and become a hero.

In the video below, posted on May 9, 2017, Skyla recalls the day her grandma was pinned to the driveway when a car suddenly rolled onto her leg.

She was scared to call the police, but realized she was the only one around and would do anything to save her family member. Then she made the 911 call that changed everything.

"Um, hi. My grandma is stuck… like under the car," Skyla tells emergency operator in a recording of their call. "Please help!"

When the operator asks for more information, the 8-year-old manages to keep her cool and focus on helping her grandma. "The car went on top of her," she says in an upset tone. "She was just grabbing something and the car just moved, I don't know."

She answered critical questions that helped save her grandmother as first responders arrived on the scene.

"Thank God my granddaughter was there, Skyla. She called 911 and saved my life," Grandma Jean Sullivan explains with pride.
