This Is What Your Sneaky Cat Does At Night

Have you ever wondered what your night crawler cat does while your dosing? We may finally have a definitive answer…

Now look, just the same as people are unique, every pet is different. But that doesn't stop the greater majority from fulfilling our pet-centric stereotypes for their behavior (e.g. puppies making a meal of your favorite things, or cats knocking everything off of counters). And even the best of pets have their eccentricities that drive us up the wall. As a former cat owner, I can speak personally to the inability to sleep past 7 AM without a kitty-interruption for food. I'm sure the cat owners among us can speak to that incessant purring that happens directly next to your face until you're forced to shake off sleep.

But it's sometimes when we're dreaming that the most bizarre behavior takes place. According to PetMD, cats are crepuscular — meaning they're most active around twilight — and typically rest between 15 and 20 hours in a 24-hour timespan (that's the life, if you ask me). The genius behind the YouTube channel Cole and Marmalade (named for his camera-ready feline companions) set up night cameras to figure out specifically what it is our cats do while we slumber. It's…well, you'll just have to watch it for yourself.
