Soldiers Forced To Cancel Dream Wedding Before Deployment Have Impromptu Ceremony In Uniform

Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have caused so much damage to the Southern coast of the United States that people from all over the country are looking for a way to help. Military personnel have been deployed to organize the relief effort in the wake of the storms.

Airmen Lauren Durham and Michael Davis were just two of those soldiers, and they happened to be deployed at a moment's notice. But there was one problem: they had planned their beach wedding for the second weekend in September, which was when they were supposed to assist in the rescue.

At first it was a joke. The couple played around with the idea of getting married during Hurricane Irma. Then, it finally happened: the no-frills, makeshift ceremony took place, and the bride and groom even wore their fatigues!

If you’re looking to help the victims of the recent hurricanes, consider donating to the Red Crossor take a look at these eight ways you can lend a hand.

Considering they couldn't make it to their own wedding, a friend suggested the two get married during Hurricane Irma. At first, it was only a joke. But it wasn't long before the couple decided it was actually a good idea.

In a makeshift, impromptu ceremony, they were wed in their uniforms. The bride didn't wear makeup, but she carried a small bouquet of flowers.
