In early 2015, Lorie and Terry Traviss drove from Alberta, Canada to Memphis, GA to celebrate Elvis’ 80th birthday with their four-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, Dixie. The couple stopped to grab a quick bite to eat when a pair of thieves broke into their car, snatched Dixie and drove off. Security footage caught the entire dognapping on camera.
Instead of celebrating Elvis' birthday, the couple spent the next week of their vacation holed up in a motel room in an utter state of panic. As American news outlets began to pick up the story, Lorie and Terry begged and prayed the Memphis community to help them find their beloved Dixie. They even started a Facebook campaign hoping someone might be able to help track her down.
After a week, Lorie and Terry drove home to Canada without Dixie, helpless, heartbroken and fearing the worst. But just when all hope was about to be lost, a stranger from Canada saw the couple's story online and stepped in to do the unthinkable.
