In 2010, Miss D.C., Jen Corey made it into the top 10 of the Miss America Pageant. She is tall, blonde and beautiful, and has been plagued by harassment from men ever since she developed as a young teenager.
When a strange man did something terrible to Corey at a D.C. bar, she decided to use her pageant queen status to help fight street harassment, a topic often dismissed as 'boys just being boys'. In this influential video, Corey and other women from various background discuss the terror of being harassed by strangers on the street.
These women shared their disturbing stories in hopes that they can help others who face this type of harassment every day. While there is definitely a much safer way of confronting your harasser than yelling back, this is still a great video to help empower women to stand up against this wrongful persecution.
Please help spread this powerful message to all the women in your life. SHARE this video with your friends on Facebook today.
