Quack-Quack is a duck that was attacked by dogs on campus at NTU in Taiwan, and suffered internal injuries.
Instead of allowing the duck to suffer, which many people would otherwise do, Q.Q. was transported to surgery. Afterwards, it seemed the duck could only put his weight onto one foot. Therefore, they did something incredible — they designed a customized walking brace by using 3D scan and 3D printing techniques to avoid the stress of weight bearing on one leg, and to help him keep his body in balance!
This video documents the fascinating process, from prototypes to the final walking brace.
Not only are these students heroes… but they're BRILLIANT! Bravo, guys!!
