In times of turmoil, peace and love can be the most powerful weapons in our artillery . The brave students in this video will show you how powerful music can be, too.
An anti-gay preacher set up shop outside a building on the James Madison University campus this week. The students refused to tolerate anyone preaching hate on their beloved campus, so they came together to drown out his hateful messages with peaceful songs. The university angered students by inviting controversial Revival Mission Ministries preacher Ross Jackson to give a lecture. According to students, Jackson reportedly condemned homosexuality and alcohol, among many other things. The students wouldn't let Jackson spread hate on their school grounds, so they fought back with love.
In the video below that student Diego Jauregui posted to YouTube, you can hear the preacher condemn the students singing peaceful hymns. "All you horny frat boys that love to do drugs and get drunk, you are going to hell," Jackson shouted at students. "If you love country music, you are going to hell."
When Jackson yelled at the students he didn't care what they thought, one student had the perfect response, which truly said it all. "Why are you here?"
