Teacher Refuses To Allow Student To Finish Her Lunch, School Sends Harsh Note Home To Mom

Is it really anyone else’s business what you pack in your child’s school lunch each day? Most parents attempt to fill their kid’s lunchbox with a plethora of healthy items and maybe a few special treats in order to fill up their stomachs and give them energy for the day.

Such was the case for caring mother Leeza Pearson. Leeza grew up in a fairly competitive academic environment and hoped to give her daughter Natalee a more nurturing and fun-filled place for learning, so she decided that the Children’s Academy in Aurora, Colorado, was likely a good fit.

Leeza was a hardworking mother who was in college working toward a degree. One morning, she noticed that she had run out of fresh fruit to put in her daughter’s lunch, so she stashed a few cookies in her packed lunch instead without giving it a second thought.

According to ABC News, when Natalee returned home from school later that day, Leeza found that the cookies in her lunch box were “untouched” and were accompanied by a strongly worded note from Children’s Academy.

The lengthy note, which Leeza provided to ABC News, discussed how “it is very important that all students have a nutritious lunch” and that “all children are required to have a fruit, a vegetable and a healthy snack from home.” The note also went on to say that the school required “everyone’s participation” in this as it’s a “very important part of [their] program.”

Leeza told the news outlet that she was “baffled” by this school policy, especially since it ended with her daughter not being allowed to eat what was provided in her lunch by her mother and going through the rest of the school day hungry.
