The beginning and end of every school year was always filled with its own set of excitement and anxieties. I loved school, so the beginning of each year was equally as exciting as the beginning of summer.
Going shopping for all of those school supplies — fresh new folders, loose-leaf paper to fit inside a crisp new binder, and a pencil case to fit all of my highlighters to color-code all of my notes — was just such an occasion. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say that getting ready for the first day of a new school year was almost as good as Christmas morning.
But, as much as I loved going to school, getting ready for the summer had its own draw. No more tests or pop quizzes for a few months, no more toiling over English essays or pouring over notecards full of biology terms into the wee hours of night. Summer promises sunshine, relaxation, and a whole new year to look forward to.
At Ogden High in Utah, the teachers had an extra-fun way of saying farewell to one school year, and hello to summer vacation.
While students thought they were being interviewed for a farewell video, the teachers had something much more entertaining up their sleeves.
These are the kinds of teachers you want to have in the classrooms, because you know that these students aren't dozing off during their lectures!
