Teen With Cancer Marries His High School Sweetheart While In The Hospital

There's no shame in shedding a few tears at someone's wedding. After all, watching two soul mates pledge to share their lives together is an emotional event!

I know I couldn't hold back my own waterworks when I saw my brother take that walk down the aisle. The nuptials below definitely had me grabbing for tissues, too, even though I'm not related to the bride or groom.

Swift and Abbi's ceremony took place in an unusual venue: St. Francis Children's Hospital in Tulsa, OK. That's where Swift Myers has spent the last month fighting his latest cancer diagnosis.

The couple, both 18 years old and recent high school grads, had been dating for the past two years before officially tying the knot in front of friends, family, and hospital staff. In fact, it was the nurses who helped organize the whole thing as soon as they heard about their patient's engagement.

Swift was first diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a form of bone cancer, when he was in seventh grade. He's battled the illness six other times before this latest heartbreaking relapse. After falling into a coma for 10 days, his first thought after waking up was proposing to Abbi.

It wasn't the first time he popped the question to his new wife, though. He says he always knew they'd end up married, but this time, he really meant it.

Their beautiful celebration was live streamed on Facebook with over 1,000 viewers tuning in to the touching vows.
