I am so touched by this story. Cheryl is one of more than 150,000 American homeowners Rebuilding Together has helped over the last 25 years. After accepting her application, Rebuilding Together enlisted a team of carpenters, floor installers, painters, laborers, gardeners and many more home improvement experts to give her home a completely new makeover, which she waited for for a very long time – but could never afford. Here, Cheryl gives the most eloquent, heartwarming speech of gratitude to those who worked to help her.
There are 13.8 million very-low-income homeowners just like Cheryl: seniors, families, Veterans, victims of disaster. It is AMAZING to see organizations like this one come together to help communities all over the country. Cheryl is such a great person, and I'm so happy her life is forever changed.
