A Good Samaritan happened upon a horrifying scene in Kansas this year. He found a bloodied Pit Bull left for dead suffering from a single shotgun wound. The pup had been shot in the head, and no one was sure he was going to make it. Fortunately, the dog was rushed to Unleashed Pet Rescue where he was cleaned up and received medical treatment by a local vet.
Unleashed, which is a non profit shelter located in Kansas that focuses on improving the image of bully breed across the state, soon discovered that this poor dog, now named Timber, was shot at a point blank range.
"They had to have gotten pretty close to him to be within one foot of his head when they shot him, so they would've known that he was a nice dog. So I'm not sure who did this, but I believe it was done with malice," said Danielle Reno, president of Unleashed's board.
The bullet entered through his head, exited out of his neck and then reentered through his leg. No one knows for sure why someone shot Timber, but Unleashed has their suspicions about the motive. If this doesn't make you want to end negative stereotypes about gentle pitties…I don't know what will.
After his healing process, Timber was able to open his heart and let love in even though he'd seen the absolute worst of people. If only we could all be so open and forgiving!
This is Timber's amazing and miraculous story, please SHARE.
